Replacement Battery for Bissell Spot Cleaners

This nickel-zinc battery replaces the original pack in Bissell Pet Stain Eraser, Pet Stain Eraser Duo, 3180+, 3181+, 3182, 3182+, 3183+, 3706, P3000 and P3812 models. It matches the 7.2V operating voltage and 2000mAh capacity required by these portable carpet cleaners. The cell chemistry is certified to ISO9001, RoHS and CE standards. It restores cordless runtime for indoor and outdoor stain removal tasks.

Nickel-Zinc Chemistry Constraints

Nickel-zinc cells deliver the rated 7.2V and 14.40Wh but have a different discharge curve than the nickel-metal hydride packs originally fitted to some listed models. Voltage drops more steeply near end of charge, so the cleaner may report low battery earlier than expected. The chemistry also requires a charger programmed for nickel-zinc termination; using the original NiMH charger can overcharge the pack and shorten its life.

Direct Swap Installation

The pack fits the battery compartment without modification and connects through the existing contacts. No soldering or tools are needed beyond opening the latch. The most common issue is the cleaner failing to recognise the new pack because the fuel-gauge chip expects NiMH voltage thresholds; a full charge-discharge cycle usually recalibrates the meter. If the unit still refuses to start, the charger firmware is likely incompatible with nickel-zinc termination.

Questions about this item

Which Bissell models does this 2000mAh 7.2V nickel-zinc battery replace?

It fits the 3180+, 3181+, 3182, 3182+, 3183+, 3706, P3000, P3812, Pet Stain Eraser and Pet Stain Eraser Duo, matching part numbers 1626647 S20R, 1628158, 1629257, 1629258, 23083 and CBAK2.0.

What run-time can I expect from the 2000mAh capacity in my Pet Stain Eraser?

The 2000mAh / 14.40Wh rating restores the original capacity, so you should see the same cleaning time per charge that the machine delivered with its factory battery.

Does the 7.2V nickel-zinc chemistry require a special charger or will the standard Bissell charger work?

The battery is built to the original 7.2V specification, so the standard Bissell charger supplied with the listed models will charge it normally.
