A 20 A, 120 V GFCI duplex receptacle with built-in surge protection that guards against ground-fault shocks
This white GFCI duplex receptacle is rated 20 A at 120 V and provides ground-fault protection for residential and light-commercial wiring. It fits a standard NEMA 5-20R outlet box and includes a built-in surge protector to guard connected equipment against transient voltage spikes.
The device operates passively with no moving parts so it produces no audible noise and adds negligible heat to the enclosure. Power draw is limited to the sensing circuitry required for ground-fault detection and surge suppression.
Install this receptacle where code requires GFCI protection or where an older outlet lacks shock protection and surge suppression. The upgrade is most valuable in kitchens bathrooms garages and outdoor locations where ground faults are a known hazard.

Connect the line terminals to the incoming 120 V supply and the load terminals to downstream outlets; the step often missed is attaching the grounding wire to the green screw on the 3-wire grounding duplex.
Press the test button monthly to verify the 20 A shock protector trips, then press reset; replace the unit if it fails to trip or reset, as the built-in surge protector degrades after repeated surges.
The 20 A rating is the first limit; sustained current above 20 A will cause the GFCI to trip and interrupt the circuit.
