Flush-Mount Electrical Spacers

These Gardner Bender plastic spacers bring receptacles and switches flush with drywall or paneling so wall plates fit properly. The four-piece pack covers trade sizes #6, #8 and #10 screws for common residential work. They are UL listed for code-compliant installations.

Adjustable Stack Design

Spacers compress to the exact thickness needed and can be cut or twisted off by hand without tools. Each piece snaps or slides over a machine screw shaft where tightening is required. The plastic construction resists cracking during adjustment.

Replaces Improvised Shims

This kit replaces makeshift washers or stacked cardboard used to close gaps behind devices. The jump is worth it when multiple boxes sit at different depths and a single adjustable solution speeds up the job. Not suited for installers who need metal spacers for high-heat or load-bearing applications.

Questions about this item

How do the #6, #8, and #10 screw-size spacers fit on the machine-screw shaft?

The spacers snap or slide over the shaft of #6, #8, or #10 machine screws so tightening pulls the device flush.

What physical space do the four spacers occupy inside an electrical box?

The stack compresses to the exact thickness needed; individual pieces twist or cut off to fill the gap behind the device.

What is the correct way to adjust the spacer stack during installation?

Compress the stack to the required depth, then snap or slide the pieces over the screw shaft before tightening.
