Product Identity

Gardner Bender MS-575 Cable Staples are steel fasteners supplied in a 500-piece pack. They are intended for electricians and installers who need to secure NM cables against wooden surfaces in residential or commercial wiring projects.

Thermals Noise Power

As passive metal staples, they generate no heat, produce no audible noise and draw no electrical power during installation or long-term use. Performance is limited to the mechanical holding force provided by the steel legs driven into wood.

Cable Compatibility

These staples accommodate NM cables sized at 9/16 inch and feature a plain steel finish for an unobtrusive appearance on wood. They are not suitable for cables outside this size range or for mounting on non-wood substrates such as concrete or metal studs.

Questions about this item

How do I install these 500 steel staples, and what step is often missed?

Drive the staples with a compatible staple gun so the plastic saddle protects the NM cable, and do not over-drive them — that is the step most people skip.

What maintenance or replacement will these staples need later?

The plain-finish steel can rust in damp areas; inspect periodically and replace any corroded staples to keep the 9/16 inch NM cable secure.

What limit appears first when the staples are under sustained load?

The 9/16 inch saddle width sets the maximum cable size; forcing a larger cable crushes the insulation and is the first failure point.
