Fishing Line for Conduit Pulls

Gardner Bender PL232B is a polyolefin fishing line rated at 210 lbf tensile strength and supplied in a 6500 ft length. It is compatible with EMT, flexible, IMC, PVC and rigid conduit sizes from 1/2 in to 6 in. The line comes in a blue bucket measuring 12.8 in height and 12 in width for storage and dispensing.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

This product is a passive pulling line with no electrical components, motors or moving parts. It generates no heat, produces no audible noise and draws no power during installation or use. Performance is limited only by the 210 lbf tensile rating and the length on the reel.

Bucket and Blower Compatibility

The included bucket keeps the 6500 ft line tangle-free and allows direct payout on the job site. The line works with Gardner Bender blower or vacuum models B60, BV208DA and JO225LC to assist longer or more difficult pulls through compatible conduit.

Questions about this item

How do I feed the 6500 ft blue polyolefin line from the 12.8 in bucket through 1/2 in to 6 in EMT, PVC or rigid conduit?

Mount the bucket so the line pays out freely, attach a pulling eye to the 210 lbf line, then push or blow it through the conduit run using a Gardner Bender B60, BV208DA or JO225LC blower/vacuum.

What part of the PL232B line kit wears out first during repeated pulls?

The 210 lbf polyolefin line itself will abrade or stretch over many pulls; the 12 in wide bucket and hook-and-loop closure last indefinitely unless physically damaged.

At what pulling tension does the 210 lbf rated line reach its limit on a long conduit run?

The line is rated for 210 lbf tensile strength; sustained tension above that value risks permanent elongation or breakage during a pull.
