Rear-view radar for cyclists

The Garmin Varia RVR315 rearview radar pairs with a compatible Edge bike computer or smartphone to warn of vehicles approaching from behind. It detects traffic up to 153 yards away and delivers visual and audible alerts so you can ride with greater awareness.

Detection range up to 140 metres

The single figure that decides fit is the 140 metre detection distance for vehicles overtaking from the rear. If your typical roads require earlier warning or you need a longer range, this unit will not meet that requirement.

Varia app and third-party integration

The bundled Varia smartphone app supplies graphics, tone and vibration alerts for approaching cars without a separate Garmin device. Compatibility with apps such as Ride with GPS extends the same radar data into platforms you may already use for navigation or training.
