Garmin Catalyst 2 Driving Optimizer

The Garmin Catalyst 2 is a compact, all-in-one driving performance optimizer built for track drivers who want data-driven coaching. It combines a 1440P HD camera with Garmin Clarity HDR optics and a 3.34-inch touchscreen. Real-time audio cues deliver guidance on braking, cornering, and acceleration zones through Bluetooth earbuds or a car stereo. Patented True Optimal Lap technology creates a composite video of your best achievable lap for measurable improvement.

25 Hz Multi-GNSS Positioning and Storage

Refined True Track Positioning technology uses accelerometers, gyroscopes, and 25 Hz multi-GNSS positioning to accurately map your racing line. The device records sharp video with data overlays showing speed, delta time, track position, and G-force information. Session data is automatically organized within the companion app, which identifies your top three opportunities for improvement after each session. Capacity for extended track days depends on the microSD card used, which is not included in the bundle.

Upgrade from Basic Lap Timers

This optimizer replaces simple GPS lap timers or smartphone apps that only provide sector times without coaching. The jump is worth it when you need real-time audio feedback and a visual composite of your optimal lap to correct driving technique. It is not suited for drivers who only want basic lap counting or street navigation features. The bundle includes a USB wall charger, a 10-foot USB Type-A to Type-C cable, and a screen cleaning kit.

Questions about this item

Does the 25 Hz multi-GNSS positioning work with my existing OBD-II data logger?

The Garmin Catalyst 2 uses its own 25 Hz multi-GNSS positioning with internal accelerometers and gyroscopes; it does not rely on or connect to a vehicle's OBD-II port for track data.

How can I verify the 1440P camera is recording correctly during a session?

The 3.34-inch touchscreen shows a live preview, and real-time audio coaching cues confirm the system is actively processing driving inputs while the camera captures footage.

What mounting hardware is included for windshield installation?

The box contains the Garmin Catalyst 2 unit, a USB wall charger, a 10-foot USB-A to USB-C cable, a screen cleaning kit, and the unit is designed for windshield mount compatibility.
