Compact dash camera for daily drivers

The Garmin Dash Cam 57 fits discreetly on the windshield and records 1440p video through a 140-degree lens with Clarity HDR optics. GPS data stamps every clip with location, date and time. Voice control operates in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Swedish for hands-free saving, audio toggles and still captures. Driver alerts flag forward collision, lane departure and speed camera zones to support safer habits.

Low-profile operation with Wi-Fi dependent features

The unit draws power from the vehicle and runs silently without a fan or moving parts. Parking Guard monitors the surroundings while parked but only functions when a Wi-Fi connection is present. Live View remote access also demands constant power and an active Wi-Fi link through the Garmin Drive app on a compatible smartphone. Incident clips upload automatically to the secure online Vault over the same connection.

Included memory card and app ecosystem

A memory card ships in the box so recording can begin immediately without a separate purchase. The Garmin Drive app on a smartphone provides the interface for Live View, Parking Guard alerts and Vault video management. Voice commands reduce screen interaction while driving. Buyers who need dual-camera coverage or built-in cellular connectivity for truly remote monitoring will not find those functions here.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Garmin Dash Cam 57 on my windshield and which step is often missed?

Stick the supplied adhesive mount to a clean windshield, slide the camera onto it, then connect the power cable to a constant-power source; the step most people miss is ensuring the socket stays live when the ignition is off so Parking Guard and Live View can work.

What maintenance or replacement will the Garmin Dash Cam 57 need over time?

The included memory card will eventually wear out from continuous 1440p recording; replace it with a new high-endurance card of the same capacity when footage shows gaps or corruption.

What limit appears first during extended driving with the Garmin Dash Cam 57?

The 140-degree field of view is fixed, so very wide intersections or tight corners can fall outside the frame; no setting expands the angle beyond 140 degrees.
