Garmin HRM 600 Heart Rate Monitor XS S wearable technology

Purpose and Audience

The Garmin HRM 600 Heart Rate Monitor is a wearable device built for data-driven athletes who want precise heart rate and heart rate variability metrics. It captures running dynamics such as vertical oscillation and ground contact time when paired with a compatible smartwatch. The monitor also records workouts independently and syncs later to the Garmin Connect app.

Critical Specification

The adjustable strap fits chest sizes from 23.5" to 47", covering both XS-S and M-XL ranges with a single design. A secure fit is essential for the optical sensor to deliver accurate real-time data during high-intensity movement. The unit carries a 5 atm water rating, making it suitable for swimming and heavy sweat sessions.

Fit and Alternatives

This monitor suits runners, cyclists and multisport athletes who need detailed running dynamics and the ability to record activities without wearing a watch. Buyers who only need basic heart rate zones without advanced metrics may find simpler devices more appropriate. Those requiring a smaller or larger band than the stated chest range should look at other options.
