Product identity

This Garmin Magnetic GPS Accessory is a compact Bluetooth tracker that works exclusively with Apple's Find My network on iOS devices. It targets owners of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, keys, wallets, luggage, pet collars or childrens backpacks who want real-time location updates without a subscription or monthly fee. The magnetic weatherproof case allows quick attachment to any steel surface.

Bundled software impact

The included Find My Phone application on iOS replaces a traditional tracking platform and removes the need for a SIM card or data plan. Through that app you can view precise positioning, trigger the built-in speaker alarm to locate a parked vehicle and rely on Apple's encrypted lookup network for privacy. No Android support or separate software is provided.

Deciding specification

The tracker communicates only via Bluetooth to the Find My network and requires an iPhone or iPad running iOS; it will not function with Android devices or standalone GPS satellites. A CR2032 battery is installed and rated for over one year of operation. Dimensions are 14.33in W x 12.83in H x 9.06in D and weight is .02 kilograms.
