The unit runs on mains power with a battery backup option, so verify you have a convenient outlet and spare batteries for the backup. Ensure your dry food pieces are small enough to pass the rotor without jamming. The heightened base helps prevent pile-up at the outlet, but very large kibble may still catch.

Rotor reverses to clear jams during long use

If food becomes stuck, the rotor spins counter-clockwise to release it before returning to normal operation, reducing downtime over weeks of daily feeding. The built-in microchip retains all schedules for up to seven days without mains power, so repeated outages do not require reprogramming.
