Adds Bluetooth 5.1 to older desktops

This USB adapter brings Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity to Windows PCs that lack built-in wireless support. It connects mice, keyboards, headphones, speakers and printers through a standard USB port. The device is not compatible with Mac, car stereos or televisions. Windows 7 requires a separate driver download before use.

Low power draw with external antenna

Bluetooth 5.1 + EDR reduces power consumption compared with older versions during normal operation. A 2dBi external antenna supports a transmission distance up to 328ft or 100M in open space. Physical obstructions and wireless interference will reduce the effective range in typical indoor environments. The adapter uses a full-speed USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 interface.

Windows 7 needs manual driver install

Plug-and-play setup works on Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 8 without extra software. Windows 7 users must download and install the driver from the manufacturer support site before the adapter functions. The product includes a lifetime manufacturer replacement warranty and a 90-day no-questions-asked return period.

Questions about this item

Does the 2 dBi antenna need any special positioning during installation?

The 2 dBi external antenna is fixed on the dongle; point the adapter toward the Bluetooth devices and keep large metal objects away from the line of sight for best range.

Will the 2 dBi antenna or Bluetooth 5.1 radio need periodic replacement?

No user-replaceable parts are specified; the antenna is integrated and the radio is solid-state, so no scheduled maintenance is required.

What limits the 328 ft range first during continuous use?

Physical obstructions and wireless interference reduce the practical range well before the Bluetooth 5.1 link budget is exhausted.
