GE 10059 8W T5 Fluorescent Tube

The GE 10059 is an 8 watt linear fluorescent tube measuring 12 inches in length. It uses a miniature bi-pin G5 base and produces a cool white light at 4100K colour temperature. This lamp is suited for general lighting in residential or commercial fixtures designed for T5 tubes.

Practical Limits of G5 Bi-Pin Interface

The G5 base requires a compatible socket and matching ballast to operate correctly. Polarity must be observed during installation to ensure the lamp strikes reliably. Fluorescent technology also means light output will gradually decline over the rated life of the tube. Buyers needing instant full brightness or dimming capability should consider alternative technologies.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8 W 12" T5 tube or a different wattage and length for my fixture?

Choose the 8 W 12" T5 tube only if your fixture is rated for exactly 8 watts and accepts a 12-inch G5 bi-pin lamp; using any other wattage or length will cause poor starting or physical mismatch.

What does the 4100 K cool-white rating look like once the lamp is installed?

The 4100 K cool-white output appears as a neutral white light, brighter and crisper than warm white but without the bluish tint of daylight lamps, making it suitable for task lighting in kitchens, garages or workbenches.
