Three-pole non-reversing magnetic motor starter with thermal overload protection, DIN-rail mountable for 120V AC coil operation
The GE CR306D002 is a non-reversing magnetic motor starter designed for panelboard mounting on DIN rail. It provides three-pole overload protection for three-phase and single-phase motors in industrial control panels. The thermal overload design helps protect connected equipment from excessive current draw.
The unit carries no enclosure NEMA rating and features a transparent housing for visual inspection of contacts. Its panelboard-mount format allows direct installation onto standard DIN rails inside existing cabinets. This open construction suits builders who already provide their own rated enclosure and do not need a sealed starter housing.
The starter operates on a 120V AC coil and supports maximum motor voltages up to 600V AC. Three-phase horsepower ratings reach 25 hp at 480V and 600V, 15 hp at 240V and 10 hp at 208V. Single-phase ratings are 7 1/2 hp at 240V and 3 hp at 120V. Buyers whose control circuit runs on a different coil voltage cannot use this starter.

The thermal overload relay is a serviceable component; under normal duty it typically lasts many years, but heavy cycling or frequent trips will shorten its life and call for earlier replacement.
The coil and contacts are rated for 120 V AC control and 600 V AC maximum; sustained operation at full 25 hp load will hit the thermal overload trip point before any voltage or coil limit is reached.
With a 120 V AC coil and 600 V AC rated contacts, the starter dissipates modest coil heat; the thermal overload element adds more heat under high current, so allow ventilation space around the DIN-rail mounting.
