Gearkeeper RT5-5803 Key Retractor

The Gearkeeper RT5-5803 is a spring-loaded key retractor built for workers who need keys secure and within reach at all times. A rotating spring clip attaches to a belt loop or bag strap while the nylon cord extends to keep keys functional without unclipping. The 9/16 inch split ring holds standard key sets firmly in place during active movement.

36 Inch Extension for Hands-Free Access

The 36in nylon cord pays out smoothly so you can unlock doors or start vehicles while the retractor stays clipped to your person. A rotating clip prevents the tether from twisting when you turn or bend during tasks. The spring tension retracts keys automatically the moment you release them, eliminating loose dangling loops.

Replaces Fixed Clips and Short Tethers

This unit upgrades basic carabiners or short lanyards that force you to unclip keys for every use. The 36in reach removes that friction for high-frequency access points throughout a shift. Buyers who need a locking reel or a longer cable for neck wear will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

How far does the 36 in nylon cord extend before it hits its limit?

The cord pays out to a full 36 inches, then the internal spring stops further travel and begins retracting the keys.

Does the spring mechanism heat up or make noise during all-day use?

The passive spring produces no heat and operates silently; only a faint mechanical click is audible when the clip engages.

What must I already own to attach the included 9/16 in split ring?

You need keys or a small accessory with a hole that accepts a 9/16 inch split ring.
