AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS mini PC for AI

The GEEKOM A8 MAX integrates an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor with 16 MB of L3 cache and AMD Radeon 780M graphics. It ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. The 120W power adapter supports the compact 46.9 x 135 x 132 mm chassis.

Sustained performance

Under continuous load the system maintains throughput using dual 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports and USB4 for high-speed peripherals. The 700 g nettop dissipates heat within its small footprint without acoustic distraction. The 8 MB L2 cache per CPU core helps keep latency low during extended compute sessions.

Practical limits of the integrated Radeon 780M

The AMD Radeon 780M drives up to 8K output but relies on shared 32GB DDR5 memory, which caps frame buffers in heavy 3D or video tasks. The single 1TB SSD provides fast primary storage yet leaves no internal bay for a second drive. Expansion depends on external USB4 or network-attached storage.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 120W supply draw when the Ryzen 9 8945HS runs all day?

The unit ships with a 120W adapter. Actual draw varies with workload; the CPU has a 16MB L3 cache and 8MB L2 cache to help manage efficiency.

Which display cables must I already own to use the HDMI and USB4 video outputs?

A 100mm HDMI cable is included in the box. For USB4 video you will need a compatible USB4 or DisplayPort-alt cable, not supplied.

Will my existing 2.5GbE switch work with the dual LAN ports on this Mini PC?

Yes. The A8 MAX provides dual 2.5Gbps LAN ports, so a 2.5GbE switch connects at full speed without extra configuration.
