Wireless HDMI extender kit

The Gefen T81 kit transmits HDMI video and audio wirelessly from a laptop, PC, set-top box or camera to a TV, projector or monitor. It is built for presenters, teachers and home viewers who want a cable-free link up to 100 ft. Plug-and-play operation requires no app, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi configuration. The kit includes transmitter, receiver and a USB Type-A to Type-C power cable in random white or black.

Dual-band chip with LDS antenna

The bundled 2.4G and 5G dual-band chipset and LDS antenna replace a long HDMI cable and allow the signal to penetrate walls or ceilings. Latency is stated at .01 s, so duplicated or extended desktop content plays smoothly for streaming video, presentations or movies. The USB cable powers the units from any standard USB-A port, removing the need for separate power bricks.

100 ft wireless range

The single specification that decides fit is the maximum line-of-sight transmission distance of 100 ft. Buyers who need longer runs or guaranteed throughput through heavy masonry should consider a wired HDMI or fibre solution instead.

Questions about this item

Does the USB Type-A to Type-C cable supplied with the Gefen T81 need periodic replacement?

The kit includes a random white or black USB Type-A to Type-C cable; treat it as a consumable and replace it if the connectors loosen or the sheath frays.

What limits the 100 ft range when the T81 runs continuously?

The dual-band 2.4G and 5G chip with LDS antenna is rated for about 100 ft; walls, ceilings or other obstructions will reduce the practical distance first.

How much heat or fan noise does the T81 produce during all-day streaming?

The unit weighs only .082 kg and has no active cooling listed, so it runs silently with minimal warmth under normal use.
