Assisted Pocket Knife with Combo Edge

The Gerber Propel AO 30-000840 is a folding knife with a 3-1/2 inch combo edge blade and assisted opening. It is built for everyday carry and general utility tasks where a reliable cutting tool is needed. The design focuses on quick, one-handed deployment for immediate use.

Considerations for blade length and edge style

This knife suits users who want a versatile blade that handles both slicing and tougher cutting jobs. Buyers needing a fixed blade for heavy field work or a smaller folder for deep concealment should look at other options. Those who prefer a plain edge only will find the combo edge less suitable.

Questions about this item

How do I deploy the blade on the 30-000840 and what step do users often miss?

Apply thumb pressure to the thumb stud until the spring-assist engages and the blade locks fully open; the step people miss is pushing far enough past the detent so the lock seats completely.

What part of the 30-000840 will need replacement after extended use?

The combo-edge blade will dull over time and require sharpening or professional regrinding; the pivot area may also need periodic lubrication to keep the assisted action smooth.
