Gibson 69140.02 kitchen accessory

5-quart Dutch oven

The Gibson 69140.02 is a 5-quart CrockPot Dutch oven finished in grey. It combines a traditional cast-iron style pot with a programmable slow-cooker base for countertop braising, stewing and roasting. The removable stoneware insert moves from base to table for serving. Suited to cooks who want one vessel for browning, slow cooking and keeping food warm.

Not for stovetop searing

The stoneware insert is not designed for direct burner heat, so recipes that start with high-heat searing on the hob need a separate pan. Buyers who need a Dutch oven that goes from hob to oven without changing vessels should look at bare cast-iron or enamelled models. Those cooking for large crowds may find the 5-quart capacity limiting for big-batch recipes.
