Dual Intel Xeon 6 AI server barebone

The GIGABYTE G294-S45-AAP2 is a 2U barebone server designed for high-performance computing and AI workloads. It accommodates two Intel Xeon 6 processors in LGA 4710 sockets. This platform targets organisations deploying dense GPU compute for training or inference.

Eight full-height PCIe Gen5 x16 GPU slots

The chassis provides eight full-height, full-length PCIe Gen5 x16 slots built for dual-slot Gen5 GPUs. It supports four NVIDIA H200 NVL PCIe GPUs with two-way NVLink bridges. This GPU density is the defining specification for buyers choosing this system.

Sixteen DDR5 DIMM slots

Memory capacity scales across 16 DIMM slots supporting 8-channel DDR5 RDIMM or MRDIMM. Storage uses eight 2.5-inch SATA/SAS-4 hot-swap bays. Networking includes two 10Gb/s LAN ports via an Intel X710-AT2 controller. Dual ROM architecture aids firmware resilience.

Questions about this item

What does the 16 DIMM capacity mean for memory bandwidth in a real workload?

The 16 DIMM slots provide 8-channel DDR5 per processor, so both Xeon CPUs can feed memory to all 16 modules simultaneously for high-throughput tasks.

How do the 10Gb/s LAN ports limit network throughput in practice?

The dual 10Gb/s ports via Intel X710-AT2 cap each link at 10 gigabits per second, giving a combined 20 Gb/s ceiling for storage or cluster traffic.

What physical clearance do the 8 GPU slots require for dual-slot cards?

The 2U chassis fits 8 full-height full-length PCIe Gen5 x16 slots spaced for dual-slot GPUs, so each card occupies two adjacent slot brackets.
