GTX 1060 3GB for 1080p gaming

The GIGABYTE GTX 1060 G1 Gaming targets 1080p players who want solid frame rates without stepping up to a larger frame buffer. Its GeForce GTX 1060 GPU runs at a base clock of 1620 MHz and can boost to 1847 MHz across 1280 CUDA cores. The 3GB GDDR5 memory operates at 8008 MHz on a 192-bit bus. A thermal design power of 120W means a 400W system supply is sufficient.

Compact dual-slot build

The card measures 278 mm long, 114 mm wide and 40 mm thick, fitting many mid-tower cases without blocking adjacent slots. Active cooling uses a custom heatsink and fan assembly that exhausts heat into the chassis. RGB illumination adds a red-green-blue accent visible through a side panel. Rear I/O provides one HDMI 2.0b, three DisplayPort 1.4 and one dual-link DVI-D connector for mixed monitor setups.

Driver package and utility software included

The bundled disc and download link supply the NVIDIA driver branch, the GIGABYTE control utility and an RGB lighting app. The utility lets you adjust fan curves, monitor clocks and create game profiles without third-party tools. The lighting app synchronises the card’s LEDs with other compatible components. Windows 10 and 11 are supported out of the box.

Questions about this item

Does the PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface cap bandwidth for this GTX 1060?

The card runs on a PCI Express 3.0 x16 link, which supplies enough throughput for the GTX 1060 so the slot does not limit gaming performance.

What clearance does the 278 mm length and 40 mm height need?

At 278 mm long and 40 mm tall the G1 Gaming fits most mid-tower cases, but check the distance from the motherboard PCIe slot to any drive cage or side panel.

Which power connector must be seated for the 120 W TDP?

A single 6-pin PCIe power plug from a 400 W or larger supply is required; the card will not start if the connector is loose or missing.
