Dual-socket Xeon barebone for dense compute

The GIGABYTE R183-S94-AAC1 is a 1U barebone server that accepts two 5th or 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors or dual Xeon CPU Max Series chips. Thirty-two DDR5 RDIMM slots provide an eight-channel memory subsystem per socket for bandwidth-heavy workloads. It targets operators building high-density compute or storage nodes in standard racks.

Ten 2.5-inch bays share Gen4 NVMe SATA SAS bandwidth

Ten hot-swappable 2.5-inch drive bays support Gen4 NVMe, SATA and SAS media simultaneously. The backplane connects through PCIe Gen4 lanes, so aggregate throughput is bounded by the CPU lane budget and the Gen4 link speed. Builders needing more than ten devices or PCIe Gen5 storage rates must add external enclosures or choose a different chassis.

Replaces older 1U dual-socket units

This platform supersedes 1U dual-socket barebones limited to PCIe Gen3 drive backplanes and fewer DIMM slots. The jump is justified when workloads demand Gen4 NVMe latency, eight-channel DDR5 bandwidth or the two FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 plus two OCP 3.0 Gen5 x16 expansion slots for accelerators and high-speed networking.
