The GIGABYTE S472-Z30 is a 4U rackmount barebone designed for storage-heavy workloads. It supports a single AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 series processor in an SP3 socket and provides sixteen DDR4-3200 memory slots across eight channels. Two 1600W 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies deliver redundant power. The chassis fits up to fifty hot-swap drives across 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch bays with SATA, SAS and NVMe support.

This platform suits builders who need maximum drive count in a single-socket 4U form factor. It is not for buyers who require dual-processor scaling, additional PCIe expansion beyond the provided NVMe HBA slots, or integrated networking beyond 1 Gigabit Ethernet. The Aspeed AST2500 provides basic display output only, so GPU compute workloads are not supported.

The board accepts exactly one AMD EPYC processor in the SP3 socket, capping the system at sixty-four cores and 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes from that single CPU. Memory capacity reaches four terabytes across the sixteen DIMM slots. All fifty drive bays and both M.2 slots share the CPU's lane budget, so storage density is the defining constraint.
