Clip-on USB speaker for laptops

The GOgroove SonaVERSE is a wired 2.0 channel speaker that draws audio and power from a single USB port. Its metal rectangular body clips to a laptop lid or stands on a desk. The blue finish and 0.51 lb weight suit mobile professionals and students who need louder sound than built-in drivers provide.

Practical limits of USB audio

Power and signal share one cable, so output is capped at 4 W RMS and volume scales with the host port current. No battery or external adapter is included, meaning the speaker cannot operate away from a powered USB socket. Stereo separation is limited by the 8.5 in width of the single bar.

Clip mount and desk stand

A spring-loaded clip grips screens up to the thickness implied by the 2.25 in depth; thicker bezels may slip. The same foot folds out for desk use, but the short cable restricts placement. Drivers install automatically on Windows and Mac, though some laptops mute internal speakers only after manual selection.
