Outdoor Volume Control Set

The Goldwood Sound Acoustic Audio AAOVCD-G is a three-pack of passive dial volume controls built for outdoor speaker runs. Grey weatherproof ABS housings mount with four screws and accept a one-inch PVC conduit for wire entry. The low-voltage design suits DIY installers and professional whole-house or retail audio systems.

Capacity and Headroom

Each control handles up to 150 watts per channel and works with 4, 8 and 16 ohm speakers. Independent grounds allow use with any amplifier, while terminals accept raw speaker wire up to 14 gauge. Adjustable shorting bars let you safely connect up to eight pairs of 8 ohm speakers by matching impedance to the amplifier output level.

Dial Steps and Wiring Limits

The rotary dial provides 12 attenuation steps including a true first off position for complete silence. CL3-rated in-wall speaker wire is required for all connections to meet code. The housing measures 2.75 by 4.5 by 2.75 inches, so installations needing larger enclosures or wireless control will need a different solution.
