Product identity

The Goldwood Sound Theater Solutions RK8C kit supplies eight rough-in frames for 8-inch round in-ceiling speakers, intended for installers working on new-build or remodel projects. Each frame is moulded from durable ABS plastic and spans 26-inch plastic bands that fasten between standard studs.

Installation aids

Adjustable sliding mounts let you set the exact speaker position before drywall goes up, while the outer flange matches typical drywall thickness for a flush finish. A built-in wire hook holds cable clear of the cavity and a removable hole cover keeps debris out until the speakers are fitted.

Critical fit check

The cut-out diameter is 9.625 inches and is designed specifically for Theater Solutions TS80C and CS8C models; other 8-inch flush-mount speakers may not align with this opening.

Questions about this item

Will the ABS plastic rough-in brackets become brittle or need replacement after the drywall is installed?

The brackets are made of durable ABS plastic designed to stay in place behind standard drywall; once mounted they are not a wear item and do not require scheduled replacement.

What limits how far the bracket can slide along the 26" mounting bands during installation?

The 26-inch plastic bands span between 2x4 studs, so the bracket can only move within that stud bay; stud spacing is the practical limit.

Does the rough-in kit add any heat, noise or power draw once the speakers are connected and running all day?

The kit is a passive plastic frame with no electronics, so it produces no heat, no noise and draws no power regardless of how long the speakers play.
