Smart speaker for Google homes

The Google Nest Mini GA00638-US is a compact voice controller with Google Assistant built in. It suits households that want hands-free help with music, timers, and smart-device control. Buyers who need a screen for video calls or visual recipes should look elsewhere.

Plug in and add in the Home app

Setup runs through the Google Home app on a phone. The speaker connects to 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. A wall outlet is required because there is no battery. Thick walls or crowded channels can weaken the wireless link.

40 mm driver with 360-degree sound

The 40 mm driver delivers 360-degree audio with 2x stronger bass than the original Mini. It fills a bedroom or kitchen comfortably. Larger open-plan areas may need additional speakers for even coverage.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the Google Nest Mini GA00638-US is working correctly after plugging it in?

Say "Hey Google" and confirm the Assistant responds; the four LEDs will light and you should hear audio from the 40 mm driver.

What comes in the box with the Chalk Nest Mini and what must I provide separately?

The package includes the speaker, owner's manual and power adapter; you only need a Wi-Fi network and the Google Home app on your phone.

Which version of the Nest Mini should I choose for dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0?

The GA00638-US model supports 802.11b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz plus Bluetooth 5.0, so this single version covers both.
