What this duplicator is and who it suits

The Gotega NXA125_M is an external CD and DVD duplicator that connects through USB 3.0 Type-A and USB-C ports. It reads and writes CD±R/RW, DVD±R/RW, DVD-RAM, VCD and SVCD discs on Windows, macOS and Linux computers. It does not support Blu-ray media, Chrome OS, tablets, iPad, TVs or vehicle systems.

Practical limits of the USB 3.0 interface

The drive uses a USB 3.0 link rated at 5 Gbps and falls back to USB 2.0 and 1.0 speeds when required. Maximum write speeds are 24x for CDs and 8x for DVDs, with an 8 MB buffer to smooth data flow. Desktop users should plug the drive into a rear motherboard port for reliable power and signal quality.

Installation experience and common pitfalls

The duplicator draws power from the USB connection and needs no separate adapter or driver installation on supported operating systems. Front-panel USB ports on desktop cases often cannot supply enough current, causing read errors or eject cycles. The white chassis measures 6.5 in by 6.5 in by 1.0 in and sits on a flat surface without mounting hardware.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the USB-A or USB-C connection for my laptop?

This drive includes both USB-A and USB-C connectors on the same cable, so you can use whichever port your laptop has without choosing a specific version.

What does the 5 Gbps transfer rate mean when I am actually burning a disc?

The 5 Gbps is the USB 3.0 interface ceiling; real write speed tops out at 8x for DVDs and 24x for CDs, so the drive itself limits throughput well below the bus maximum.

Is the USB 3.0 interface backward compatible with older USB ports?

Yes, the USB 3.0 connection works with USB 2.0 and USB 1.0 ports, though transfer speed will drop to the older standard's limit.
