1.2 TB SAS 12G 10K Gadget
This 1.2 TB SAS gadget runs at 12 Gbps with a 10 K rotational speed in a 2.5 inch form factor. It matches part numbers 781518-B21 and 781578-001 for direct replacement. The unit is supplied new from the manufacturer.
SAS 12G interface limit
The SAS 12G interface tops out at 12 Gbps, so throughput cannot exceed that ceiling. Buyers who need higher bus bandwidth will find this standard insufficient. The 10 K spindle speed also caps random-access latency at a level above solid-state alternatives.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the 781518-B21 or 781578-001 version for my 1.2T SAS 12G 10K 2.5 inch drive?
Both part numbers refer to the same 1.2T SAS 12G 10K 2.5 inch specification, so either version will match the listed capacity, interface speed and spindle speed.
What does the 12G SAS figure mean for actual throughput in a server?
The 12G SAS interface supports up to 12 Gbit/s per lane, giving higher sustained transfer rates than 6G SAS when the controller and backplane also run at 12G.
