Drive identity
The Graviton 2.5 1.2TB 10K SAS Hard Drive is a 2.5-inch enterprise hard drive with a 1.2TB capacity and a 10K rotational speed. It uses a SAS interface and carries the manufacturer part numbers 693648-B21, 693719-001, EG1200FDJYT and 718159-002. The unit is sold new and includes a caddy.
Fit and limits
This drive suits administrators who need a 1.2TB 10K SAS spindle for a DL380 G5, G6 or G7 server and who can accept a pulled unit that has been tested and comes with a three-month warranty. Buyers who want a factory-sealed drive with a longer warranty period or who need a different capacity or form factor should look at something else.
Deciding specification
The single specification that decides fit is the SAS interface combined with the 2.5-inch 10K 1.2TB form factor; the server must accept this exact physical and electrical interface for the drive to work.

Questions about this item
Will the 2.5-inch 10K SAS drive need bearing or motor service after extended use?
The 10K SAS mechanism is sealed; no bearing or motor service is required during its operational life.
What limit appears first when the 1.2 TB drive runs at 10K RPM continuously?
Sustained 10K RPM operation makes thermal throttling the first limit, reducing throughput to protect the mechanism.
How much heat and noise does the 2.5-inch 10K SAS drive produce in all-day server use?
The 10K SAS drive emits noticeable whine and runs warm; ensure the DL380 chassis fans maintain adequate airflow.
