What this adapter is and who it fits

This 230 W power supply delivers 19.5 V at 11.8 A through a 5.5 × 2.5 mm barrel connector. It is built as a direct replacement for the Chicony A12-230P1A and A17-230P1A units that shipped with specific MSI GS and GS Stealth laptops as well as select Gigabyte Aero and Clevo models.

How it fits into a build

The brick accepts 100-240 V input at 50-60 Hz, so it works on mains worldwide with the included region-specific cord. The fixed 5.5 mm outer and 2.5 mm inner diameter plug mates only with laptops that specify that exact jack size and the 230 W rating; it does not adapt to smaller or larger barrel ports.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Buyers replacing a failed or lost original charger for the listed MSI, Gigabyte or Clevo machines will find a matching voltage, current and connector. Anyone whose laptop requires a different wattage, voltage, current or barrel dimensions should look elsewhere because this unit cannot be adjusted to other specifications.
