What it powers

This 65W USB-C AC adapter supplies 20V at 3.25A to compatible Dell XPS 13 and Latitude laptops. It replaces part numbers HA65NM170, DA65NM170 and LA65NM170. The unit includes a detachable power cord and accepts 100-240V input for worldwide use.

Thermals and draw

The adapter delivers up to 65W through a Type-C connector with selectable output profiles of 5V, 9V, 15V and 20V. CE certification confirms compliance with European safety standards. No active cooling is fitted, so operation is silent under normal load.

The deciding spec

The single specification that determines fit is the USB-C plug carrying 20V at 3.25A. Buyers whose Dell models require a barrel connector or a different voltage profile cannot use this unit.

Questions about this item

How do I install the HA65NM170 adapter, and which step is often done wrong?

Plug the power cord into the adapter brick, then insert the Type‑C connector fully into the Dell laptop port until it clicks; the step people miss is leaving a gap that prevents the 20V 3.25A handshake.

What maintenance or replacement will the HA65NM170 need later?

The detachable EU/US/UK/AU power cord is the only wear item; replace it if the plug pins loosen or the cable sheath frays, otherwise the sealed 65W brick needs no service.

What limit appears first during sustained use of this 65W Type‑C charger?

Continuous 20V 3.25A output is capped at 65W; if the system draws more, the adapter will throttle or shut down before the cable or connector overheats.
