Professional insulated socket

The Gray Tools M1217-I is a 17mm, 1/2-inch drive socket built for electrical safety. It suits electricians and maintenance technicians who work on live equipment up to 1000 volts. The 12-point drive engages fasteners quickly in tight spaces.

Upgrade from uninsulated tools

This socket replaces standard chrome sockets when voltage exposure is possible. The jump is worth it whenever a job requires ASTM F1505 rated protection and a visible safety indicator. It removes the risk of using uninsulated tools on energised panels.

Sustained load behaviour

The dual-layer insulation uses an orange outer layer over a yellow inner layer that reveals damage instantly. Each piece is individually tested to the 1505 standard, so the protective barrier remains reliable through repeated daily use. The insulation does not degrade under normal mechanical stress.
