6mm 1000V Insulated Socket
This 6mm insulated socket fits a 1/4-inch drive and is rated for work up to 1000 volts. It is built for electricians and technicians who service live or potentially live low-voltage equipment. The six-point drive profile grips fastener flats to reduce rounding. Each piece is individually tested to ASTM F1505 requirements.
Dual-Layer Insulation and Visual Indicator
An orange outer insulation layer covers a yellow inner layer that acts as a visible wear indicator. If the yellow layer shows through, the socket must be removed from service. This design lets users confirm insulation integrity at a glance before every job. The standard-length body reaches typical panel fasteners without extra extensions.
Replaces Non-Rated Sockets for Electrical Work
The socket upgrades a standard 6mm chrome socket that carries no voltage rating. The jump is warranted whenever the task involves exposure to energised parts up to the 1000V rating. It does not suit applications requiring a different hex size, a 3/8-inch drive, or impact-rated construction.

Questions about this item
What voltage does the 1000V insulation rating cover in practice?
The socket is individually tested to ASTM F1505 standards and provides user protection for up to 1000 V.
What drive size and hex opening does this socket need to fit?
It uses a 1/4" drive with a 6mm hex opening and a 6-point configuration.
How do you install the socket and what indicates it is no longer safe?
Attach it to a 1/4" drive tool; the yellow inner insulation layer serves as a visual safety indicator — if it becomes visible through the orange outer layer, the socket should be replaced.
