Extended power for Panasonic Lumix cameras

The Green Extreme DMW-BLK22U is a 2400mAh lithium-ion battery rated at 16.2Wh that fits Panasonic Lumix S5, GH5, G9 and GH5S bodies. It replaces the original DMW-BLK22 pack and adds a built-in USB-C port so the cell can be topped up without a dedicated charger.

For shooters who need all-day runtime

Videographers and event photographers who drain a standard pack in a single session will appreciate the higher capacity and on-the-go charging. Buyers whose cameras use a different battery form factor or who require hot-swap dual-battery grips should look at other power solutions.

Simple drop-in with a protective cover

Insert the battery like the OEM unit; the removable contact cover shields the terminals from dust and short circuits when stored loose in a bag. The only common snag is forgetting to remove that cover before mounting the cell, which prevents the camera from powering on.

Questions about this item

Do I need a separate charger or can I recharge this 2400mAh pack directly with the included USB-A to USB-C cable?

The battery has a built-in USB-C port so you can recharge it with the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable and any standard USB-A power source — no dedicated charger required.

Will this 16.2Wh pack fit and communicate correctly in a Panasonic Lumix S5 that originally used a DMW-BLK22 battery?

Yes, the DMW-BLK22U is designed for the S5, GH5, G9 and GH5S, matching the form factor and contact layout of the original DMW-BLK22 so the camera recognises it and reports remaining capacity normally.

After inserting the battery, how do I confirm the USB-C charging circuit is working?

Connect the included USB-A to USB-C cable to a power source; the battery’s contact cover can stay on while charging, and the camera’s battery-info screen will show the charge percentage rising.
