Purpose and User

The Greenlee 840A is a 1/2-inch conduit hand bender built for electricians who run EMT aluminium or galvanised steel conduit on site. Its patented Site-Rite sight indicator lets users read bend angles quickly without a separate level or protractor.

Deciding Specification

The head accepts only 1/2-inch EMT conduit in aluminium or galvanised steel; it is not rated for stainless steel EMT or rigid IMC pipe. Buyers who need to bend larger diameters or different conduit types must choose another tool.

Durability and Effort

The aluminium body keeps the bender light enough for all-day use while the square hook design resists spreading under load. A non-slip contoured pedal gives secure footing so the operator can apply steady leverage with less fatigue.

Questions about this item

How does the patented sight indicator help me hit the right angle on a real job?

The indicator lets you line up the bend mark visually so you can reach the target angle without guessing or re-measuring each time.

What does the square hook design do when I am pulling the handle?

The square hook grips the conduit firmly and keeps it from twisting while you apply leverage through the pedal.

What handle do I need to mount this bender head so it fits and works?

It is compatible with the Greenlee 84H1 handle, which is the matching part for this bender head.
