Questions about this item

Will the 4.00" x 11.90" x 1.40" cartridge slide into my APC SC450RM1U battery compartment?

Yes, those are the exact cartridge dimensions for the RBC18 replacement, so it fits the SC450RM1U and every other listed APC model.

Do I just unplug the old cartridge and snap this one in, or is wiring required?

The unit arrives tested, charged and ready to install; disconnect the old cartridge, connect the new one using the existing connectors, and secure it — no soldering or extra wiring.

How often should I expect to swap out this 12 V 8 Ah dry cell cartridge in a typical UPS?

Plan on replacing the cartridge every three to five years; runtime will gradually drop as the sealed lead-acid cells age.
