GROCO BS-16 #304 Stainless Steel Filter Basket

The GROCO BS-16 is a #304 stainless steel filter basket designed for marine strainer maintenance. It fits 932, ARG, SA and VD series strainers used on boats. Boat owners and marine technicians install it to keep raw-water systems clear of debris.

Transparent housing allows visual inspection

The transparent colour lets users check the basket condition without disassembly. #304 stainless steel resists corrosion in saltwater environments. Normal operation adds no measurable noise or power draw to the vessel.

Compatibility limited to listed strainer series

This basket only fits 932, ARG, SA and VD series strainers from the manufacturer. Buyers with other strainer models or different thread sizes cannot use this part. Verify the strainer series before ordering.

Questions about this item

How is the BS-16 filter basket installed into the 932-series strainer, and what step is commonly missed?

The basket drops into the strainer body; the step often missed is verifying the transparent housing seals evenly before tightening the cap.

What maintenance or replacement will the #304 stainless steel basket need over time?

Inspect the mesh for deformation or corrosion; replace the basket if the screen tears or no longer fits flush in the strainer body.

What limit appears first on the BS-16 during sustained high-flow operation?

The mesh surface area restricts flow before the #304 stainless structure reaches its mechanical limit.
