Grote 45832 Red Marker Lamp Identity

The Grote 45832 is a red clearance marker lamp built for recreational vehicles and trailers. It uses an incandescent light source behind a round polycarbonate or acrylic lens. The lamp meets FMVSS 108 and SAE lens codes A, P2 and P3 for legal road use. Fleet operators and RV owners fitting replacement clearance lights will find it matches the required signalling function.

Sustained Operation Behaviour

The incandescent bulb draws a steady 0.33 A when powered, so heat output remains constant during extended night driving. A hermetic lens-to-housing seal keeps moisture and road spray from reaching the filament, preventing corrosion that can cause premature failure. The sealed design maintains consistent light output over long periods without the flicker sometimes seen in unsealed assemblies. Bracket or grommet mounting keeps the lamp secure under vibration.

Pre-Installation Checks

Verify that the vehicle wiring uses a PL-10 connector compatible with manufacturer models 66800, 66801, 66840, 66850, 66851, 67001 or 67050. Confirm the mounting surface suits either bracket or grommet attachment and that the 2 1/2 in overall diameter fits the existing cut-out. Buyers who need a different lens colour or an LED light source should look elsewhere.
