Grote 61221 Square Dome Light

The Grote 61221 is a square dome light built for surface mounting on equipment and vehicles. It operates on a 12V DC circuit and uses a clear lens to provide broad interior or work-area illumination. The housing measures 5 7/8 in long, 1 5/8 in wide and 5 1/4 in high, with screw holes for a secure mount.

Suits surface-mount installs with a blunt-cut lead

Installers who need a low-profile square fixture that wires directly into a 12V system will find this light straightforward. Buyers who require a round housing, a specific connector type, or a coloured lens should look at something else.

12V DC operating voltage

The light is designed for 12V DC power only, so it must be connected to a compatible vehicle or equipment circuit. Confirm the supply voltage before purchase to avoid damage or incorrect operation.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Grote 61221 square dome light and what step is often missed?

Mount the light on a flat surface using screws through the base; the step often missed is sealing the screw holes to prevent water intrusion.

What maintenance or replacement will this 12V DC dome light need over time?

The LED assembly is sealed and not serviceable; when output fades the entire fixture must be replaced.

What limit appears first when the light runs continuously on a 12V DC supply?

Heat buildup in the sealed housing is the first limit; extended operation can reduce LED lifespan if ventilation is poor.
