CFexpress Type B card for 8K RAW workflows

The GSM Outdoors 2 in 1 accessory is a CFexpress Type B memory card built for professional cameras that record 8K RAW video and high-resolution continuous bursts. It targets photographers and videographers using compatible Nikon, Canon and Panasonic bodies who need sustained write performance for demanding capture sessions. The card is not suited for Sony camera owners or for workflows that rely on XQD slots without a firmware update.

Installing the card and avoiding common issues

Insert the card into a CFexpress Type B slot; the form factor matches the slot exactly so no adapter is required. For XQD cameras a firmware update must be applied before the card will be recognised, otherwise the camera will not detect the media. Ensure the camera’s card slot is clean and the card is fully seated to prevent write errors during high-bitrate recording.

The specification that decides fit

The card delivers up to 1700MB/s read and 1400MB/s write over a PCIe 3.0 interface with NVMe protocol. This throughput determines whether the card can sustain 8K RAW capture without dropping frames. If your camera’s maximum write demand exceeds 1400MB/s you will need faster media.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the card is delivering the rated 1700MB/s read and 1400MB/s write speeds after I install it?

Run a benchmark tool such as CrystalDiskMark or Blackmagic Disk Speed Test on a host that supports PCIe 3.0 and NVMe; sustained sequential results near 1700MB/s read and 1400MB/s write indicate the card is operating as specified.

What comes in the package and do I need to buy a reader or adapter separately?

The box contains only the CFexpress Type B 256GB memory card; a compatible CFexpress Type B card reader or a camera with a native slot is required and sold separately.

Which capacity should I choose for 8K RAW video work on a Nikon Z9 or Canon EOS R5?

The 256GB model provides high-speed storage for 4K and 8K RAW footage; choose a larger capacity if you need longer continuous recording sessions.
