Magnetic Privacy Screen for 16.2" MacBook Pro

The GSM Outdoors A2485 is a magnetic privacy filter built for the 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display on MacBook Pro models from 2021 through 2024. It snaps onto the top bezel using patented magnets, so professionals handling confidential data can shield their screen without adhesive or tape. The multi-layer film darkens side views while keeping the head-on image clear and reduces UV and blue light exposure.

Upgrades from adhesive or slide-on filters

This screen replaces stick-on privacy layers that leave residue and slide mounts that can loosen over time. The magnetic design is worth the switch when you frequently move between private and shared spaces and need to attach or remove the filter in seconds. It is not suited for users who require privacy from viewers seated directly behind them, as the filter does not block that angle at any distance.

Tool-free magnetic installation

Alignment is automatic: place the filter along the top edge and the magnets pull it into position on compatible MacBook Pro models including A2485, A2780, A2991, A3186 and A3403. No cleaning solvents or alignment guides are needed. The most common issue is forgetting that the filter offers no protection for the keyboard or trackpad, so a separate palm-rest cover may still be desired.
