NETUM M5S 2D Barcode Scanner

The NETUM M5S is a wired 2D barcode imager that connects through any USB 2.0 port and works instantly without extra drivers. It targets cashiers, warehouse staff and small-business owners who need reliable scanning at a fixed station or in hand.

Adjustable Stand and Hands-Free Operation

A supplied stand lets the user set the scanning angle for countertop use, while an auto-sensing sensor switches to hands-free reading when a code is presented. Three selectable modes — trigger, auto-sense and continuous — cover both attended checkout and unattended kiosk workflows.

USB-Powered Low-Draw Design

The scanner draws all power from the host USB 2.0 connection, so no external adapter is required and cable routing stays simple. CMOS imaging keeps heat and acoustic output negligible during continuous shifts, and the driver-less interface avoids background software overhead on Windows, macOS or Linux.

Questions about this item

What USB standard does the M5S scanner use and what practical limit does it impose?

It uses USB 2.0, so data transfer is capped at the USB 2.0 signalling rate and the cable length is limited to the USB 2.0 maximum.

What physical items are required to mount or position the scanner?

The package includes an adjustable stand; the scanner sits in the stand and the stand rests on a flat surface.

How is the scanner installed and which step do users often miss?

Plug the USB cable into a USB port; the computer installs the driver automatically. Users often forget to wait for that driver installation to finish before scanning.
