2.4G Wireless and USB Wired Scanner

The NT-1698W is a handheld 1D laser barcode reader offering both 2.4GHz wireless and USB wired connectivity. It targets retail, warehouse and office staff who need a cordless scanner with a plug-and-play USB receiver for Windows, Mac or Linux systems. The device reads standard 1D symbologies from paper labels only.

Upgrade from Cabled Scanners

This model replaces tethered scanners that limit operator movement to cable length. The 2.4GHz link works up to 100m or 330ft in open environments, so the jump is worth it when staff must scan pallets, shelves or checkout queues away from the host computer. Wired USB mode remains available for continuous scanning while charging.

2000mAh Battery and 256KB Buffer

A built-in 2000mAh battery delivers up to 40000 scans or roughly two weeks of typical use after a three to four hour charge. The 256KB onboard memory stores more than 2600 codes for offline scanning when the receiver is out of range. It handles high-volume 1D workflows but cannot read 2D codes or barcodes displayed on screens.

Questions about this item

What USB port type does the NT-1698W scanner need for wired use or charging?

The scanner connects and charges via a USB cable; the receiver uses a standard USB-A port for 2.4G wireless operation.

How do I pair the NT-1698W with its 2.4G receiver, and what step is often missed?

Insert the mini USB receiver, then scan the pairing barcode in the manual; the scanner must be in 2.4G mode, not USB mode.

When should I replace the built-in 2000mAh battery in the NT-1698W?

After roughly 12,000 hours of scan life or when a full 3–4 hour charge no longer yields ~40,000 scans.
