Handheld 1D Laser Barcode Scanner

The Netum NT-M1 is a plug-and-play handheld laser scanner that connects through any USB port without driver installation. It targets retail, warehouse, library and healthcare staff who need fast 1D barcode capture for inventory, POS and file-management tasks.

USB Wired Interface Limits

The scanner only operates on devices equipped with a standard USB port; it will not work with iPads, smartphones or other mobile devices lacking USB host support. It also cannot read barcodes displayed on screens or any 2D symbologies such as QR codes and PDF417.

1D Symbology Coverage and Scan Envelope

The 650 nm laser reads UPC, EAN, Code 39, Code 128, Code 93, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5, MSI, Code 11, China Post and other 1D formats at up to 200 scans per second with a 35 cm scan width and 3.5 mil resolution. It handles damaged, low-contrast or curved labels within a 25 % print-contrast minimum, but it cannot decode any 2D barcode type.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the NT-M1 or a 2D model for QR codes?

The NT-M1 reads only 1D barcodes such as UPC, EAN and Code 128; it cannot read QR codes, PDF417 or any 2D symbology.

What does the 200 scans per second rate mean at the checkout?

The laser performs up to 200 scans each second, so a barcode is usually captured in a fraction of a second during normal POS use.

The scanner uses USB — does that limit cable length or power?

It draws power from the USB port and works with any standard USB host; cable length follows normal USB limits.
