Product Identity

The Guardair 79SG012 is a pistol-grip siphon spray gun built for applying coatings, insecticides, oils and solvents. It suits maintenance workers and DIY users who need a lever-operated tool with a 12 in extension for reach.

Air Consumption and Adjustability

The gun draws 9 cfm through a 1/4 in NPT female inlet during operation. An adjustable nozzle lets the operator vary the spray pattern while the siphon mechanism delivers fluid at 16 gph.

Deciding Specification

The 16 gph siphon flow rate determines whether this gun can supply enough material for the job. Buyers needing a higher delivery rate or a pressure-feed system should choose a different model.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the 12 in extension to the siphon spray gun, and what step is often missed?

Thread the extension onto the gun's nozzle until it seats firmly; the step often missed is confirming the siphon tube is fully inserted into the fluid container before pressurising the line.

Which parts of the 79SG012 will need replacement after extended use with solvents?

The adjustable nozzle tip, siphon tube, and internal seals are the wear items that typically require replacement after prolonged exposure to solvents and coatings.

At what air consumption does the gun's spray pattern start to degrade during continuous operation?

The spray pattern remains consistent up to the rated 9 cfm air consumption; degradation appears first if the supply drops below that flow during sustained use.
