Guardian G1996 Drench Shower

The Guardian G1996 is a combination drench shower and face/eyewash unit built for emergency decontamination. Its all stainless steel construction and orange finish provide corrosion resistance and high visibility in industrial environments. The unit delivers simultaneous coverage for eyes and face during an emergency.

Suits facilities needing a combined safety station

This unit serves workplaces that require a single station for full-body drenching and facial irrigation. The uncovered stainless steel bowl and included showerhead shroud support immediate use. Facilities needing a barrier-free design for wheelchair access or a foot-pedal activation method should evaluate alternative models.

1 1/4 in NPT female inlet connection

The unit connects to the water supply via a 1 1/4 inch NPT female thread located at the middle or top of the assembly. Stainless steel piping carries water to the plastic shower spray head and the eyewash outlets. Verifying that site plumbing matches this specific inlet size and thread type is essential for correct installation.

Questions about this item

Does the stainless-steel pipe and uncovered bowl stay cool enough to touch if the shower runs continuously?

The unit is built from stainless steel with a plastic shower head and an uncovered stainless-steel bowl; no thermal-rating or surface-temperature data is provided for extended operation.

My facility has 1-1/4 inch NPT female supply piping — will this unit connect directly?

Yes, the inlet is a 1-1/4 inch NPT female connection located at the middle or top of the unit, matching that piping exactly.

Can the orange Guardian G1996 be installed alongside older brass-valve safety showers on the same loop?

The stainless-steel construction and standard NPT inlet allow it to share a supply loop with legacy brass units, provided system pressure and flow meet both devices' requirements.
