Compact USB LED Light Bar

The GZ5CG KB-USB is a 12 inch LED light bar designed for under-cabinet, desk, or monitor mounting. It draws power from any standard USB port, making it convenient for workstations, 3D printers, or kitchen sinks. Magnetic brackets and adhesive iron pads allow installation on both magnetic and non-magnetic surfaces without drilling. The frosted cover diffuses light evenly across the rectangular plastic housing.

Upgrade from Fixed-Colour Strips

This bar replaces single-colour under-cabinet strips that lack brightness control or colour-temperature choice. The jump is worth it when you need three selectable whites — cool white, warm white, and yellow — plus ten dimming levels for task-specific lighting. A built-in switch cycles through modes, but the unit has no memory function and always restarts at warm white maximum brightness.

USB Power Limits

Operation is limited to the 5 V supply provided by the host USB port, laptop, power bank, or separate adapter (not included). The 1.5 metre cable restricts placement distance from the power source. Brightness and colour consistency depend on the USB port’s current capability; heavily loaded hubs may reduce output. The light bar itself consumes 6 watts at full intensity.

Questions about this item

How much clearance does the 12 inch light bar need for the magnetic brackets?

The bar measures 12 L x 0.7 W x 0.3 H inches; add the bracket thickness and allow a few millimetres for the magnetic hold.

What is the step people miss when sticking the adhesive iron pads on a non-magnetic surface?

Clean the mounting area thoroughly, then press each pad firmly for 30 seconds before attaching the magnet brackets.

How often should the frosted cover be cleaned to maintain light output?

Wipe the frosted cover with a soft dry cloth whenever dust builds up; no scheduled replacement is required for the LED module.
