Haida Greystone 49mm UV Filter
The Haida Greystone 49mm UV filter absorbs ultraviolet light to reduce the bluish cast in daylight photographs. It uses high-quality optical glass for clarity and colour fidelity. The ultra-slim aluminium-alloy ring minimises vignetting on wide-angle lenses. Front threads sized at 52 mm allow stacking with other filters.
Thermals Noise and Power
As a passive optical accessory, the filter generates no heat, produces no noise and draws no electrical power. The 10-layer multi-coating reduces internal ghosting and reflections for sharper contrast. The same coatings repel dust, moisture and scratches to protect the front element. No active cooling or power supply is involved.
Upgrade Path and When to Buy
This filter replaces a bare front element or a basic protector lacking multi-coating. The jump is worth it when you need the 52 mm front thread for stacking circular polarisers or ND filters. It is not for shooters who require a thread size other than 49 mm on the lens side.

Questions about this item
How do I attach the 49 mm Greystone filter to my lens, and what step do people often miss?
Screw the 49 mm thread onto the lens front, then check that the ultra-slim ring sits flush so the 52 mm front threads remain free for stacking another filter.
What maintenance will the 10-layer multi-coated glass need over time?
Clean with a blower and microfibre cloth only; the hydrophobic coating repels moisture and dust, but avoid solvents that can degrade the 10-layer stack.
What is the first limitation you hit when shooting with the Greystone UV filter in bright, sustained daylight?
The 49 mm thread size restricts use to lenses with that exact diameter; step-up rings add thickness and can reintroduce vignetting on ultra-wide angles.
