1.7-litre electric kettle

The Hamilton Beach 40850 is a cordless glass kettle that holds 1.7 litres of water and runs at 1500 watts on a 120-volt supply. It is aimed at tea drinkers, coffee fans and anyone who wants hot water quickly without using a stove top.

Cordless lift-off base

The kettle sits on a separate stainless steel base so you can carry it to the table without a trailing cord. Automatic shut-off activates once the water boils and boil-dry protection switches the element off if the level drops too low. Hand-wash only is required for the glass body.

Double-wall glass keeps water hot 29% longer

The double-wall construction reduces heat loss so water stays near 150°F for 29% more time than the single-wall 40865 model. This single figure tells you whether the kettle will still be ready for a second cup without re-boiling.
